Hello. I'm back with great news. Futurama has been nominated for 2 Annie Awards 2011 like the title says. For the everyone that doesn't know, the Annie Awards are the Oscars/Emmys of Animated Shows (like @erog23 a.k.a. Futurama Writer Eric Rogers mentioned).
Futurama will compete in these 2 categories:
BEST ANIMATED TELEVISION PRODUCTION
Futurama - The Curiosity Company in association with 20th Century Fox Television
Kung Fu Panda Holiday - DreamWorks Animation
Scared Shrekless - DreamWorks Animation
Star Wars: The Clone Wars "Arc Troopers" - Lucasfilm Animation, Ltd.
The Simpsons "The Squirt and the Whale" - Gracie Films
WRITING IN A TELEVISION PRODUCTION
Daniel Arkin "Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Heroes on Both Sides" - Lucasfilm Animation Ltd.
Jon Colton Barry & Piero Piluso "Phineas & Ferb: Nerds of a Feather" - Disney Channel
John Frink "The Simpsons: Stealing First Base" - Gracie Films
Geoff Johns, Matthew Beans, Zeb Wells, Hugh Sterbakov, Matthew Senreich, Breckin Meyer, Seth Green, Mike Fasolo, Douglas Goldstein, Tom Root, Dan Milano, Kevin Shinick & Hugh Davidson "Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode III" – ShadowMachine
Michael Rowe "Futurama" - The Curiosity Company in association with 20th Century Fox Television
Michael Rowe wrote episode "6acv04 - Proposition Infinity" in the latest season, so I assume that's the one is being nominated for the award . In my opinion is a good episode because it has a social commentary and is the first one that felt like the usual complete Futurama episode of the latest season. He also wrote episode "6acv13 - The Futurama Holiday Spectacular", but it aired late this year.
This is of course a great time for some awards (hopefully), because we still don't know if Futurama will get renewed once again... In the meantime, don't forget to preorder Futurama Volume 5 on DVD or Blu-Ray, I know it sounds bad but a lot of money for FOX means more Futurama for us.
