Time for me to show some new Futurama love from the fanas all around the world. I'm gonna start with punxdude, his fanart features Nibbler vs. Domo (holding a Bender doll).. a very interesting and kinda funny parody (if you can call it that way =P)
Please let me welcome a new fanartist around here, he is Jack, and I must say that his Futurama images are great. I've added 3 new images today, all of them made in traditional watercolor. The fanarts feature infant Fry playing with a Planet Express starship, Morbo talking on TV about his Valentine date, and the one featured here.. Fry and Bender happy because Futurama is back once again! by JavieR / June 28, 2009 / 16:46
Hi, sorry for the late update, I've been lazy really, so no excuses this time. I've some nice fanart for you to enjoy today. First, 2 new images created by MissusPatches featuring both the Human Robot Devil (also known as the Human Beelzebot).
The second artist today is Y2W. Two new neat images await for you. The first one is a security camera video where you can see Amy and Leela kinda naked doing I don't know what, and the second one features The Nimbus (The ship commanded by Zapp Brannigan) with the particular and neat style of Y2W, so please take a look! I've to go now, but I'll add more stuff in the very near future, and more info about the return of Futurama on Comedy Central in 2010. by JavieR / June 24, 2009 / 10:31
Order Now the FUTURAMA: COMPLETE COLLECTION 1999-2009 DVD Box at Amazon
The item will be release on October 13, 2009, and includes a Giant Bender Head case with a detachable rubber antenna! Oh my, this is awesome. The Futurama Complete Collection is finally available for Preorder at Amazon for $107,99 The Box is very nice, features Bender's head inside a head-in-a-jar in the cover (funny, because Bender doesn't need one). In fact, the case is a Giant Bender Head that will have all the DVDs, with no individual DVD box for each movie, and it will feature different arts of each DVD compared to the ones sold individually. In he San Diego Comc Con 2009 the Box was first released as a Limited Numbered Edition with signatures of Matt Groening, David X Cohen and members of the Voice Cast. The Box it looks like the Bender Head is printed in that special material that looks like a 3D object, but is not, in fact, is a real Bender Head (non-functional rubber antenna included) with all the discs inside, like the Family Guy Total World Domination Collection with Dewie's Head. I'm sure that this box is an Essential Collection Item for all the fans that didn't get the Seasons and DVD Movies separately or if you are a die-hard Futurama Fan, so what are you waiting for, preorder it now! by JavieR / June 22, 2009 / 17:13
Thanks to a post by deanobot from the KidRobot.com Forum, it seems that the next exclusive Futurama Toynami figures in the Next San Diego Comic Con are Universe 1 Fry and Universe 1 Leela, both limited to 2,000 pcs.
This is great news in one way because we already have the exclusive Universe 1 figures of Glorious Golden Bender (SDCC exclusive, 2006) and Blue Zoidberg (ToyFare exclusive, 2007) ..so if you have those two (I only have the Blue Zoidberg) you can add more Futurama Universe 1 figures to your collection. Toynami had a clever idea.. they are repainting the original Fry and Leela figures of course, but by doing that, they don't have to sculpt new figures (that makes them cheaper to create).. regardless that move, it makes you wanna have them because is part of the alternate Universe 1 exclusive collection. I don't like the acessories though, because those are also the same than the original ones, according to the preview. Leela 1 should have a Diamond Scrunchie and Fry 1 perhaps something else, but not the holophone again (maybe some Bachelor Chow!). Please don't forget to check the original KidRobot.com post. by JavieR / June 21, 2009 / 10:40
Hi, and thanks for waiting. I've some nice stuff for you today, thanks to the Futurama fan artists. First, I've added 2 new images created by Beeju, this time featuring fry fighting the worms from the episode, Parasites Lost.. one is a sketch like a charcoal drawing, the other is the colored version in an aquarelle style.
The other artist today coming back is mr35mm, with a new image about the episode Put your Head on my Shoulder (featured today).. with Fry, Amy a mad Leela and an indifferent Bender! Is a very intersting fanart with a very funny situation that i really recommend you to check out, the image is called "Would you like to do it now?". by JavieR / June 16, 2009 / 22:44
Well, this is kinda interesting. Thanks to David Lauff that saw Futurama on MTV today. According to the MTV schedule, you will be able to see 2 Futurama episodes from Monday to Friday in the 4:00 pm and 4:30 pm time slots (Futurama started airing on MTV this Monday, June 16, 2009).
Futurama is also still airing on Comedy Central from Monday to Friday in different slots each day (check the full Futurama on Comedy Central schedule) and the slots of course, do not mix with the ones of MTV. Now, let's see some facts:
UPDATE - August 4, 2009 @ 18H29 Futurama aired on MTV just for a couple of weeks, apparently to fill up a empty slot.. by JavieR / June 16, 2009 / 19:35
Hello again everyone. I've been working in some inprovements for TFP, but there's a dely because of my work (and extra freelance work too), but today is time for a new update. There's always neat fanart for you over here, and today I've some of it created by Hiwi. She created three images featuring her favorite characters, Ignar and Larry (the 2 youngest Mom's sons) and one also featuring Walt.. so please visit her gallery and check them out.
The other artist today created her fanart long time ago (aroung mid 2007), but she is new over here, her name is supercluster-hong, she's from South Korea, and I've added two images made by her, one featuring Zapp Brannigan and kif Kroker, and the other Leela and Fry in an interesting drawing.. and both have a different but very nice style. In other news, Twitter is malfunctioning today, so there you go David X Cohen, now you and the other writers can have fun with it! by JavieR / June 14, 2009 / 23:09
Still trilled because Futurama is back? So am I, that's why I've been searching the web a lot about Futurama, and I found an article from Underwire (from Wired.com) where they talk about some of the ideas that could be added in the future Futurama Season 6.
The ideas that David X Cohen has, are about the new tecnologies that we have now (and the geek stuff used today), compared with the start of the series in 1999: "I keep thinking of the insidious possibilities of the iPhone [..] Or the sinister possibilities of Twitter, and so forth". He also says that there's at least one "shocking sexual relationship" in the future episodes. For more info please visit the original underwire article. Since I always add news backwards, is time for some new fanart by the talented Mike Jessen (Kaspired) with 7 new images that feature varied characters.. Leela in a sexy gym outfit, a cool art trade with Wolich22 portrait, 3 girls (Leela, Amy and LaBarbara), another Keeler Crater image featuring Amy, Leela, Marge, Edna Krabappel and LaBarbara topless (but backwards).. Leela, Fry and Bender using masks (referring to the AH1N1), another sexy plane art featuring Amy this time, and finally a pic of Leela attacking the muck leech from Into the Wild Green Yonder movie (featured today). Enjoy! by JavieR / June 12, 2009 / 16:45
Ok, we can all breath again.. just in case, is true.. Futurama is back on Comedy Central in 2010.
Today I'm gonna start with a new fanfiction created by MoonDay, the history is called Barking Mad: Fry and Bender are watching TV when they catch a strange broadcast calling for furry showers! More happens when they learn that this is the work of an evil canine ruler named Rufus who rules a planet called Bonevald. The fanart is here today thanks to wolich22 and I've added many heads-in-a-jar today, 5 exactly. The images feature herself in two versions of her auto portrait, and the heads-in-a-jar of some deviants (her best friend scarlett, tdx and wamid) One of the reasons why I always wanted more and more fans creating Futurama fan stuff was because I didn't want to see Futurama die. I always created some stuff or supported the fans that wanted to contribute to Futurama and TFP.. I had the feeling that if more people supported Futurama sending a fanfic, fanart or anything Futurama related, I can show everyone that we love that show.. and all those years worth it! Thanks a lot for supporting Futurama, supporting The Futurama Point :) and suporting all the other Futurama websites around! by JavieR / June 9, 2009 / 16:54
Ok, this is the mother of all the Futurama news, Futurama is back again (like the 2nd coming of Jesus!). Finally the Official Press Release we were waiting for was posted today at the Comedy Central Press. Not only Futurama Returns on Comedy Central, but it returns with 26, yes 26 brand new episodes that will be available in the mid 2010 (and FOX retains the option to license the original runs of the new episodes to a broadcast network) The move comes on the heels of the series' blockbuster performance on DVD and on COMEDY CENTRAL; the announcement was made today by Twentieth Century Fox Television Chairmen Gary Newman and Dana Walden, and David Bernath, senior vice president, programming for COMEDY CENTRAL.
So, thanks a lot Gary, Dana and David! Quipped Matt Groening, "We're thrilled 'Futurama' is coming back. We now have only 25,766 episodes to make before we catch up with Bender and Fry in the year 3000." Added David X. Cohen, "We're excited and amazed that the show is coming back, perhaps due to some sort of mysterious time loop. We look forward to working with COMEDY CENTRAL and 20th Television to make this the best iteration of the loop yet!"
Matt Groening and David X Cohen look really excited about this, like all the Futurama fans all over the world!. So, like Bender said once: "We're back baby!" I can say: "We're back again, meatbags!" Please take a look to the Official Announcement in Comedy Central Press. by JavieR / June 7, 2009 / 21:22
IS OFFICIAL, FUTURAMA RETURNS ON COMEDY CENTRAL IN 2010!!!
Another This could be a really nice surprise for all of us the fans if true. Like they, I also want to see an official announcement in order to scream a new return of Futurama once and for all. Please don't forget to visit the original Collider.com article. by JavieR / June 5, 2009 / 00:09
Like I said, I had more new artist showing their art around TFP, and I'm very sure you'll love this guy's work. His name is Y2W and I've added today 3 new amazing fanarts.
The first one features Leela and Fry dressing up quickly (..imagine pause..) because there's a scary Cloud Monster in space. The second is about Leela looking at a beautiful sunset, perhaps in another planet (that's my interpretation). The last and final one today features bureaucrat grade 19 Morgan Proctor asphyxiating Fry with her legs, while Leela look at them mad behind a door, and apparently Bender's brain was taken away from him again (like in episode "2acv11 - How Hermes requisitioned his Groove Back") Please be sure to check his work, I've to run now.. well not run but sleep! by JavieR / June 3, 2009 / 12:57
So, I'm busy... is true, but right now I had some spare time, so I've updated TFP. I'm gonna start with fanart from MoonDay (aka Wolfara89), that created 2 handmade images, the first featuring Leela, Fry & Nibbler and the second is a B&W collage from the episode "1acv06 - A Fishfull of Dollars" featuring Fry, Mom, Walt , Larry, Igner and Pamela Anderson.
The second artist around here is a new one, please welcome Melanie Gracey and her 4 Futurama images. Her fanart features Bender giving flowers to Leela, a portrait of Leela, Bender and the Robot Devil fighting for Leela, and finally.. a hug between Leela and Bender (featured here). She has a nice style that you should see, please take a look! Support TFP: |
